Tenuta Bizzarri Pagnoni
The founder of our family, Elio Bizzarri, in 1963 started the cultivation of the first vine plants, which together with ancient olive trees and mixed crops, characterize the environment surrounding the estate.
Between the family and the territory an inseparable relationship has been consolidated, which in the following decades was characterized by the continuity carried on by the daughter Isabella and her son-in-law Roberto. A note of innovation has not been lacking thanks to his nephew Elio, who always works with respect for nature and the centenary traditions that characterize this splendid area.
Tradition, it is the key word of this company, fundamental for what represents the cultivation of the vine and the subsequent wine production.
To date, only 100% DOC Montepulciano d' Abruzzo from a 15-year-old spurred cordon vineyard.
Bulk wine was produced until the family decided to start bottling with the 2015 and 2016 productions.
The cellar, which is being renovated and expanded, allows an annual production limited to 1500 bottles, always maintaining the quality of the product in the first place.
The estate is located in the north of Abruzzo, on the hills of Torano Nuovo (TE) at 241 mt s.l.m., a suitable area for quality wine production.
The vineyard has an excellent exposure to the south-west where the cold breezes coming from the Gran Sasso massif meet and the warmer and saline ones from the Adriatic Sea, just 11 km away as the air.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, steel 12 months and subsequent rest in the bottle.
100% Montepulciano grapes.
Ruby red tending to garnet, fruity (black cherry and plum), floral (violet) and light spicy (cinnamon and green pepper).
Intense taste, persistent and full-bodied. Wine for long aging, temperature changes throughout the year, clay-limestone composition of the soil and finally the gentle sea breezes that meet the coldest mountain currents.
Picked and selected grapes strictly by hand only the best in the vineyard, passing through vinification with manual mixing and then resting in steel barrels to produce a top quality wine.
Passage not carried out in wood in order not to alter the natural taste and olfactory composition of this magnificent vine.
It matches well with: cold cuts and seasoned cheeses, structured first courses with meat sauce, lasagne, meat ravioli and important second courses of meat and game.
